McMurdo Base, Antarctica

This painting is a bit over 3 feet wide and I created it completely with acrylic paint and my PaascheAB airbrush.

It belongs now to the Air Force National Archives.

I flew with the 22nd Airlift Squadron to New Zealand then McMurdo in 1994. The three men you see here were the pilots who flew us there. James Cameron and I were the only civilians on this trip along with a grad student from Berkley. We were carrying part of a telescope he needed down there for his doctoral research. I was doing research for just this painting.
